International Coffee Day

The International Coffee Day was celebrated on October 1st, the date promoted by the International Coffee Organization. Café do Ibo participated with an event in Pemba.

The event was promoted by INMA, Lda and by the IBO platform | Coffee Route and was attended by several people and presented several activities highlighting the coffee.

The promotion of cultural exchange and local tourism, through the tasting of typical Ibo Island drinks, an exhibition of handicrafts, including the Ibo and Ujamaa Silver, the art of painting and traditional dance and music filled the day.

Ibo's coffee was awarded in 1906 for its unique characteristics with the Gold Medal Diploma in Lisbon, and this merging with the architectural heritage can create a fantastic tourist attraction for the island and the region.

It is also important to create a local brand through its rich flavor, aroma of unique intensity, and the relatively low caffeine content of coffee.
